HEALTH RELATED QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDHOOD BRAIN TUMOR SURVIVORS

Welcome & thank you for your interest in our study!

Fighting a childhood brain tumor can be distressing. Brain tumors and/ or related treatments can have profound effects on one’s quality of life. However, these impacts have not been well-studied, in part due to lack of an appropriate measurement tool. The purpose of this study is to evaluate a newly developed scale in measuring quality of life for childhood brain tumor survivors and to examine factors that may influence survivors’ quality of life.

Eligible criteria for participating in this study are:

If your child:
  • had a diagnosis of a brain tumor
  • is currently 7-17 years of age
  • has been off-treatment for his/her brain tumor for at least one year,
If you:
  • had a diagnosis of a brain tumor
  • are currently 18-21 years old
  • have been off-treatment for your brain tumor for at least one year,

Your participation is valuable for us to help improve the scale, and to help us understand how you and others are doing. We expect to apply these study results to future research studies with the ultimate goal of facilitating better long term care for childhood brain tumor survivors.
